MISSION TRIP TO BORNEO: JUNGLE WARFARE WITH PEST

Have you ever thought that there were pests (I mean pests like cockroaches, mosquitoes, rats, ants, etc, etc) roaming in the homes of those residing in the uttermost remote villages of Borneo? Or perhaps your thoughts could have swung to the other pendulum and said: “Having pests residing in such places shouldn’t be a great surprise – after all one could easily conclude the sanitation there ….”

Having said it all, do you know that RIDPEST is involved in social responsibilities because they believe their responsibilities goes beyond just making profit to include protecting and improving society’s welfare? Besides, Stephen Liu, the CEO of Ridpest having a concerned spirit for the people of the land, has embarked on a tracking journey to the interior part of Sarawak to providing proper training to the residence there in controlling pests. Before going there, he has extended this social concern to reputable companies like Imaspro, Compesti and Sumitomo for providing the safety equipment, sprayer and chemical for this project. The primary objective is to combat cockroaches and rodents which were aplenty in all the homes. These pests have become not only a ‘nuisance’ and are a ‘threat’ to the health of the people at large.

The journey to the destined place was indeed very challenging –  having to follow the contours and thick undergrowth of the jungle area. Nonetheless, it is worth it all as you may want to know how thankful they were to have their pests under control.

The whole kitchen's cupboard was badly infested with cockroaches. They must be eradicated to give the locals a better living condition.

It is awesome that the overall experience of this mission was superb. Helping the society is always a noble thing to do. Through our experience in Borneo, we realized that the biggest reward from helping the society is when the people we helped said thank you because they are living in a better condition and we can see the happiness on their faces. We are also happy that our pest control’s effectiveness that backed the success of this mission.
